Ten Reasons to Road Trip Alone

Dear Readers,

We know that winter puts long distance travel on hold for most people. But there's no reason why you can't take your down time to explore a map or two and begin planning your next great adventure!

If you're the type of person who needs a co-pilot, give thought to really trying something new and take a trip alone! Need incentive? Check out our top ten reasons why traveling by yourself is totally the best:

1.
You get to jam out to some of your favorite classic tunes without judgment:

2. You have plenty of alone time to think about things you normally don’t have time to think about.
3. In order to get from point A to point B, you can take WHICHEVER route your heart desires.
4. You get to drive in a smaller car, which means less money for gas!
5. Or drive the biggest car and pack it to the max because, hey, no one else is taking up space!
6. You get to stop at the most insane roadside attractions that you and ONLY you want to go to:

7. You get to meet some insanely interesting people.
8. You now have COMPLETE control over this bad boy and will never be too hot or too cold ever again:

9. You get to eat whatever you want, as much as you want, whenever you want it.

10. And if you’re crashing at a hotel? Guess what, you get that bed… all. to. yourself!

Happy planning!

Made to Remember: The CLA 45 AMG

Dear Readers,

We spent some quality time with the CLA 45 AMG this morning. As
one of the world's mightiest four-cylinder engines, this newly designed AMG 4MATIC features an all-wheel drive system and a racing-derived Dual Clutch transmission make the CLA45 AMG a ferocious introduction to the AMG family.
In addition, this model features exclusive AMG body styling, with massive front apron and oversized air inlets, 18-inch AMG twin five-spoke alloy wheels and the chrome-plated tailpipes of an AMG sports exhaust system. Underneath the hood, you'll find the new AMG 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The most powerful four-cylinder production engine on the planet has been paired with the advanced AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT (Dual-Clutch Technology) 7-speed sports transmission. Armed with a newly developed, fully-variable AMG 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, the CLA45 AMG can whip corners into submission and impose its will on the road. Add racing-derived suspension, braking and steering technology, and you've got a high-performance personality that promises to keep things exciting every mile of the way.

We're out of breath because this Mercedes-Benz has knocked us off our feet. See it for yourself in the photos below!

Christmas Caroling

Dear Readers,

We've put away our cornucopias for Thanksgiving and begun looking towards the upcoming holidays. We bet that many of you are unpacking ornaments, breaking out the blue-spruce Christmas trees, untangling lights and finding yourselves tied up in tinsel. Don't worry, we're right there with you!

Over the years we've found that certain songs herald in the holiday season. The playlist below is home to a handful of Christmas classics featuring our favorite carols and sing-a-long songs. What are some of your favorites? Comment with some ideas of what we should be listening to this season!

The Black Sea Circle Rally

What defines the word "adventure" for you, friends? Perhaps it's taking the back roads or pushing yourself to take the Bixby Canyon Bridge on your way to Big Sur. Maybe, it's circling the Black Sea in 16 days, from Berlin to Istanbul to Tiflis to Odessa. All of this in a car that must be at least 20 years old, like for example this S123. Sounds exciting? Oh, it is! Take a look at these photos or read the whole article on the Daimler blog.

Shake Up November!

Dear Readers,

As you know, National and Federal holidays are often remembered because most of us are lucky enough to have these days off. However, many of us do not take the time to learn more about why these days are recognized and even fewer people know what is celebrated for the month as a whole.

Thus, we're switching gears from our regular Mercedes-Benz-filled content. We now raise our glasses to one of the most important things to remember about this month: NO SHAVE NOVEMBER.

For those of you who are annual participants, we applaud you. Few are the folk that can resist the temptation to shave and for your extra inches of facial hair, we thank you. For those of you unfamiliar with No Shave November, allow us to clarify a few things about this wondrous season.

Participants are not allowed to:

A) Shave their facial hair
B) Touch their razors or trimmers
C) Think about shaving their facial hair with their razors or trimmers
D) Do anything whatsoever to their beards or mustaches until December 1st.

Once you've committed yourself to the cause, your face has 30 days to take the reigns. If you're one of the devoted few, feel free to snap a few selfies of yourself behind the wheel as your beard and mustaches grow! We hear that MB drivers love supporting the cause.

Talk soon,

The Leith Inc. Team

Keep the fear factor out of your wallet this Halloween!

Having fun during holiday seasons throughout the year is a must for many. Keeping the good times within a budget is a little something like magic. This year, we’re casting a spell on our Halloween costume ideas to keep them low-cost, easy to make and unique! Take a look below at some of the ideas our seasoned DIY-ers have come up with. Remember, we’re two weeks away from Fall’s favorite spookfest. Don’t be left in the dark!

For a quick go to, try these out:
Cowboy – All you need are jeans, a flannel or Western shirt, a vest, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. Add a bandana and maybe a toy gun or a sheriff's badge. If you don’t own these extra items, no worries! You can usually find them easily enough at a dollar or convenient store for cheap.

Butterfly – Have black sweats, yoga pants, or leggings? What about black shoes? Put ‘em on! Once you do, cut poster board into wings and paint them any color. Punch two holes around the edges of each of the wings, then thread and tie black ribbon through them to attach the wings around your waist. Attach pipe cleaners and pom-poms to a plastic headband (found at the dollar store). Don’t forget to add glitter to the wings, glitter makeup, or sparkly body lotion for an ethereal effect.

If you’re a jokester, try this out for a costume pun:

Cereal Killer
- Cut a slit in empty cereal boxes — either full-size or individual packs. Glue plastic knives into the holes. Drip red paint down from the knife hole in the box. Attach the cereal boxes to a T-shirt or sweatshirt.

Short on supplies? No worries! Check out these fantastic options – all you need is a cardboard box!

Robot
- Paint the box silver, glue on a few extras (old buttons, knobs, or spare electronics odds and ends), paint a matching, smaller box and cut eye holes, then use the second box as a head. Grab silver tights or leggings and practice your robot voice and doing The Robot!

Christmas Present
- Wrap the box in Christmas paper, then stick a large bow on your head. Simple!

Make this year’s Halloween fun and affordable. We hope you have a great time!
